The CaixaResearch Institute is set to become a leading international research centre in the translational study of immunology and the most prevalent diseases. The centre will conduct its own research focused on studying how the immune system works when it interacts with pathologies, such as neurological, oncological, metabolic and infectious diseases, as well as analysing related environmental factors.
The Institute’s mission will be accomplished by prioritising a multi- and interdisciplinary approach, the development of cutting-edge technologies and the transfer of results to society. The Institute will establish the necessary procedures to guarantee that all the activities carried out by its community will comply with the values of transparency, accountability, scientific excellence, integrity and ethics, equity and inclusion.

Position summary

We are establishing a new research laboratory focused on neuroimmunology, autoimmune diseases and CAR T-cell therapy. We are seeking a motivated laboratory technician to support the setup, operation, and growth of the lab. The candidate will play a central role in implementing immunological assays, animal mouse models and laboratory logistics.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Perform and optimize immunological assays to evaluate CAR-T cell efficacy, including cytotoxicity and functional assays.

  • Carry out T-cell and B-cell phenotyping and functional analyses.

  • Process human samples, including PBMC isolation, cryopreservation and biobanking.

  • Perform mouse experiments, including periodic blood collection, bioluminescence imaging and subcutaneous, intraperitoneal and intravenous injections.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and ensure data quality and reproducibility.

  • Manage laboratory inventory, reagents and consumables, and assist with routine equipment maintenance and calibration.

  • Contribute to general laboratory organization and compliance with biosafety procedures.

  • Support PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and visiting scientists in their experimental work.

  • Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to troubleshooting and experimental planning. Develop immunological assays to quantify immune responses to CART cell efficacy using cytotoxicity assays, immune-assays.
